Getting married in the winter months can be tough, darker evenings, the (very) high chance of rain or snow and having to stick your wedding day indoors from start to finish. We know there can be a variety of elements which can turn you against having your wedding at this time of year, but we’re here to show you just how magical it can be! Style Tips The Dress Keeping warm is key for a winter wedding, the last thing you want is to be shivering down the aisle. Our Georgia Bridal collection has plenty of long sleeved and covered gowns to choose from, even providing you with the opportunity to wear an overdress, which you can remove as your day progresses (or when it gets a little too hot on the dance floor!). The Accessories If you’ve got your heart set on a strapless or more revealing gown but are still worrying about the cold, your veil can be the perfect opportunity to add a little coverage whilst still following a fashionable and traditional approach to bridal style. Our big sister brand, Linzi Jay Accessories, has a wide range of veils ranging from designs which are more simple and unified, suitable for a decorated gown, or veils with a little more drama and texture. The Linzi Jay feather veil is just perfect for a winter wedding! Not only will she provide coverage, her feather trim is beautifully festive and will definitely be a showstopper. All the while you can use this to cover your arms and shoulders, problem solved! Location Tips The weather over here in the UK is extremely unpredictable, no matter the season. Be mindful of this when picking out your wedding venue. Accessibility is a must! Country side venues can be the most picturesque, but it is important to consider how your guests will get to and from the venue, especially with snow and ice. Nevertheless, good planning and organisation is key if your dream location is slightly out of the way. Make sure your guests have plenty of time to get to the venue or even suggest organising your own method of transport so the whole party arrives together (and in one piece!). Wedding planning can be daunting no matter the circumstance, but when you have all the elements to worry about too, it can get a little overwhelming. Take a step back and consider all the benefits to your winter wedding and they will slowly outweigh the cons. Weddings at this time of year are less popular, but this means your day will be more unique! Fighting over dates and making sure your friends and family aren’t going to be on their summer holidays isn’t a worry, all the focus is on you. Although snow and frost can be a obstacle at times, what a beautiful backdrop this scene can be for your wedding photos!
Are you a Winter Bride? We'd love to hear your experiences! Georgia Bridal X

Fresh from the Bridal Fashion Week Runway, we are taking a look at the trends for Fall 2020 and how you can tailor your individual bridal look. Bridal fashion has become progressive in nature with styles suitable for the independent, modern women of today who are seeking statement pieces which still carry subtle hints of tradition and elegance. Our chic, elegant foundation gowns sit alongside our capsule pieces, allowing you to build a bridal look that reflects your style and personality. Launching only in September of this year and with just 8 pieces in our collection, Georgia Bridal has taken fashion forward brides by storm. We are eagerly awaiting our next drop of gowns, all designed in our Northern showroom, which will launch in early 2020! STATEMENT SLEEVES Sleeves are the perfect way to add detail, movement and texture. After the launch of our Capsule Collection at Harrogate Bridal Show, we can already see a clear bestseller, the lovely Bea gown. With soft, sheer chiffon sleeves and a polka dot spotted tulle cuff, this gown offers a chic, timeless look whilst adding a hint of glamour with her low cut back. Bea not only ticks off the statement sleeve trend, but her polka dot cuffs are echoing the runway with polka looking like it’s here to stay. TWO LOOKS IN ONE Georgia is known for offering our brides the opportunity to switch up and change your look as your wedding progresses. Our latest collection compromises two overskirts Britt and Bailie and our feminine overdress, Billie. These pieces can be worn over one of our gorgeous foundation gowns or simply purchased on their own to complete your bridal look. By transitioning from day to night, our brides can feel like they have two completely separate outfits without having to make a full change. FEATHERS Our Bailie over skirt can definitely satisfy the feather trend. Tiny sequins nestle inside the feathered pattern giving a subtle sparkle as you move. Wedding fabrics are perfect for making a bridal look suit the season we are in, and feathers have to be one of the most festive additions. With this shimmer and dazzle as you walk down the aisle, this is the perfect accessory for a wedding on a frosty day. POCKETS What more could you want than a wedding dress with pockets? It may be your Chief Bridesmaid’s job to carry your little clutch bag but this could be the most handy feature to have on a dress. Our gorgeous Alexis gown is one of the bestsellers from our first Georgia Bridal Collection and you guessed it, she has pockets! This feature seems to be sought after due to its progressive nature that us girls also need pockets to carry our little bits and bobs! The swept boat necklines reminds us of the famous Meghan Markle gown too! Which trend are you loving?
Georgia Bridal X We've been very busy preparing for this year's Harrogate Bridal Show coming up on the 8th-10th September! We have undergone huge changes since the beginning of the year, doubling our creative and design team and developing our fabulous brands and we can't wait to share our latest designs with you all! For those of you new to The L J Group, we are a UK manufacturing business with 4 in house brands. Charlotte, Georgia Bridal, Linzi Jay and Arianna. Our in-house design team work tirelessly to explore and develop new designs, patterns and fabrics allowing us to offer our stockists fashion forward, commercial designs. During the Harrogate Bridal Show, Georgia Bridal will launch her capsule collection. Georgia Bridal has been designed with our stockists at the heart of the brand, starting with the idea that bridal retail is ever-changing. The Georgia Bridal designers work year-round to bring fashion forward, commercial styles that all have a unique personality, offering your bride the chance to develop her individual style and change her look as her day progresses. Showing alongside Georgia is our sister brand, Charlotte Balbier. We have spent the last two years developing the construction and fit of the gowns whilst exploring fabrics and patterns. Lots of love and laughter has gone into our latest collection and we hope this shines through in the gowns. A Charlotte bride is full of passion and personality and she loves to show this through her clothing. Textures, colours and movement are all key aspects to a Charlotte gown with a timeless cut being at the heart of every piece. Our 2020 collection boasts delicate Ethereal styles, designed to suit all body shapes. Unique fabrics with hints of sparkle have been sourced from across the UK to enhance the shapes of our designs. We have used a beautiful Crepe de Shine paired with an ever-growing popular Plissé fabric on a subtle fishtail gown. This paired with completely detachable sleeves is perfect for the fashion forward brides of today. Arianna is the well-established and much-loved accessories brand from The L J Group. Now in our 19th year, we continue to create handmade, unique products for our boutiques and their brides. Known for our unique use of colour tones and components alongside our ability to create bespoke pieces for our brides, our fashion forward bridal accessories can be enjoyed long after your wedding day.
Our collection has taken a turn for fashion rather than tradition this season, with a look inspired by Parisian chic. Statement pieces sit alongside classic, timeless ones to create our eclectic collection, ensuring we have a wide range for our boutiques to choose from. We would be delighted to welcome you to our stand, Q2, to show you our latest designs and have a chat about what we can offer you and your business. See you soon, Georgia Bridal x Here at the L J Group we have our very own design team, working year-round to bring you fabulous, commercial gowns, veils and accessories. Our passion for fashion knows no limits, but that passion is tailored to ensure we deliver collections that suit real women, and their fabulous figures. We start with giant inspiration boards which have anything and everything on that spark joy to us as individuals. We then pick our favourite images to concentrate on and the fabric search starts. Once our fabric samples arrive then the fun really begins. We take each sample and discuss how we can use it. Some of our favourite ones may be used as over skirts as well as veils! We keep our waste to an absolute minimum, so everything is used! Once our fabric selections have been made its then over to the sketches. We have books full of past sketches / designs and we spend time looking at those before we start on new ones. We’ve normally got a head full of ideas once the materials have been chosen so this is always the really exciting part! Each design is well thought out and each team members' opinion matters when it comes to our gowns. It’s a lengthy process which sees lots changes as we develop and improve the patterns. Once a pattern is confirmed, we head into the production process. Further changes may be made as we start to see our visions coming to life and at the end of this wonderful, often long, creative process we end up with our final collection! We take great pride in the quality of our dresses and believe our brides will love every inch of their British designed gown! Does this sound like your dream job?! Why not apply to join our design team? We offer a range of work placements that offer up and coming designers the chance to see how the creative process of bridal designs works!
Email info@georgiabridal.co.uk to apply. It has been an emotional time here at CB Head Office as we have given our amazing designer, Tabby, a huge send off as she prepares for the arrival of her little girl!

Georgia Bridal & Team L J Group X Our showroom here at the LJ Group HQ is a modern and stylish area, designed for our boutiques to visit and spend time choosing their collections. We love opening our doors and offering our brand partners a chance to see behind the scenes! We always start with a coffee and a few sweet treats before we take an office tour to meet the faces behind the voices. It’s lovely to see you finally meeting the people who take your orders and deal with any day to day queries or questions you may have. Once you’ve met the office team, we move on to our design team. You can see our creative space, browse our latest sketches (normally top secret!) and find out what we are planning for the forthcoming season.
Then we move on to our sewing room. Led by our super star, Linda, this room is where our initial design ideas become reality. We have two ladies working alongside Linda; Katt completed her dressmaking apprenticeship 2 years ago and Laura has just started hers. We are passionate about design and sewing skills so offering the chance to learn here at the L J Group was a natural progression for us. We are incredibly proud of our wonderful dressmakers. Then it’s off to our warehouse when you can see our team in action as they carefully prepare and pack your orders ready for dispatch to countries all over the world!
